SPLAT1
We welcome your school to SPLAT!
This page describes the process of setting up your school’s learners
There are three ways to add your learners to SPLAT. Which method to use depends on the data you have at the time you wish to set up SPLAT.
You may:
- create a learner’s record in SPLAT at any time by typing the information directly into SPLAT
- upload a spreadsheet with minimal information which will get your school up-and-running until you have the SF-1 from LIS. We call this the SPLAT1
- upload the SF-1s from LIS
We believe that most schools who are new to SPLAT will find the SPLAT1 option their best choice at first and then to upload the SF-1s from LIS once they are available to complete the learner data record.
Importing Learners using SPLAT1 as an ICT for the whole school
- Sign into SPLAT at https://splat-ph.com and click the yellow “Login” button on the top right. It is much easier if you have already opened your DepEd Gmail account on the same browser. Click the appropriate Google account to start.
- Go to the Admin or Data menu, then to Learners
- Click the Import from SPLAT1 choice above the search bar
- Download the SPLAT1 Template. This will be saved in your “Downloads” folder.
- Add learners to the file. The spreadsheet contains macros which will pre-check many of the values and will save you time later.
- We encourage you to create sections prior to uploading the SPLAT1, but this process will create them for you if they don’t exist.
- Click the Select Spreadsheet and Inspect button and locate your spreadsheet. Watch for a message about new sections since any typos will create additional sections. It is much easier to fix the spreadsheet data and select this option again than to remove a section later. This step reads your spreadsheet but the data isn’t saved to the database yet.
- Any spreadsheet rows with errors will be shown below. You must correct or remove these rows and run step 4 again in order to save any data to the database.
- When there are no more error conditions, click the button to Save Learner Data to the Database.
Importing Learners using SPLAT1 as an Adviser for your section
- Sign into SPLAT at https://splat-ph.com and click the yellow “Login” button on the top right. It is much easier if you have already opened your DepEd Gmail account on the same browser. Click the appropriate Google account to start.
- Go to the Data menu, then to Section
- If you haven’t created your section yet, click the Add button More instructions for section creation are here. If you have already created your section, click on it in the Section List. If the list is long, enter the first 4 characters and click the magnifying glass.
- Click to the Learners tab of your section
- Click the Import from SPLAT1
- Download the sample template. This will be in your “downloads” folder named SPLAT1_template.xls
- Add your learners to the spreadsheet. It is important that the grade level column and the section column values exactly match your section grade and name.
- Click the Select spreadsheet and Inspect button and locate your spreadsheet. This reads your spreadsheet but the data isn’t saved to the database yet.
- Review any learners with red error condition on the panel below. Click on the red entries to show the details and error message(s).These must all be corrected before adding the learners to the database. If you can’t fix a learner’s data right now, remove that row from the spreadsheet, save it and run Step 3 again.
- When there are no more error conditions, click the button to Save Learner Data to the Database. A message will be displayed when all learners have been saved. Do not be alarmed if the learner’s names change to red. This is explained next.
- After successfully saving the learner data, the screen will return to the Learners tab of your section. If your learners have been in SPLAT before, they will probably be fine, but newly added learners will be in a red error status until you import the SF-1 from LIS. This will not affect how SPLAT works until the end of the quarter so you have a while to fix, but at some point you or your school’s ICT will need to import the section’s SF-1 which will add the missing data.
